It was May of 2013 when singer-songwriter Corey Lewin, then a political operative living in Washington, D.C., knew he faced a difficult decision: continue on a career path that was stable but left him unfulfilled or leave it all behind to pursue his deep-rooted passion for music. For Corey, the risk was worth the reward of doing what he loved. He traded in his briefcase for a guitar and headed to New York City.
Since then, the Connecticut native has released two EPs, Simple Love (2015) and 41 North (2016), performed on some of New York's most well-renowned stages (The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, etc.), and toured throughout New England. Drawing upon diverse musical influences, his pop-rock style blends clever heartfelt lyrics with irresistibly catchy melodies and riffs.
Corey's love affair with music is lifelong. Growing up, he studied drums and guitar, was a member of his high school musical theatre program and choir, and performed locally with various bands. Now, his performances range from solo acoustic shows to full-band shows to one-man band shows, featuring a looping pedal that allows him to weave multiple layers of guitar, vocal harmonies, and percussion into his songs.
