THE STORY
Pauses & Permutations is about playing out all the possible outcomes of a particular situation in your head. I wrote it while I was on my way to meet up with someone I was interested in romantically, but I had no idea if it was mutual. Over and over, I ran through every potential scenario wondering which (if any) of the ones that I dreamed up would be the one that actually happened.
Even though I wrote this song about a particular moment in my life, I feel like it's something everyone can relate to and has experienced (probably many times). Whether it's a date, a job interview, or whatever else, it's our natural tendency as humans to let our imaginations (and/or anxieties) run wild and try to prepare for whatever outcome lies ahead. Funny thing is…often the real end result is one we never anticipated.

THE MAKING OF "PAUSES & PERMUTATIONS"
Truth be told, this was never a song I had planned on releasing. I never even really finished writing it. But earlier this year I posted a little clip of me playing it acoustically and I got an overwhelmingly positive response I was not expecting at all.
When my very talented pal Joseph Piacenti heard it, he said "dude you gotta let me produce this one". So, we partnered up and he produced the track and laid down drums, bass, and some additional guitars. We had a blast working together and will definitely be collabing again in the very near future.
